From the moment I met with Ashley & Andru them last year I just knew their wedding was going to be one full of love and unique touches. As anyone who truly knows me knows; I have an affinity for historic architecture and city backdrops. So upon hearing that their ceremony was taking place at the beautiful Ft. Wayne History Center in the heart of downtown Ft. Wayne - my photographer heart was singing.
But honestly, my favorite part of the day was watching the way Ashley and Andru lit up when they were around each other. They just emulate joy and happiness, and they made it look so effortless. I found myself smiling almost the entire day. I can't wait to share some of my favorite captures from their special day!
How perfect is this dress? Elegant, unique, AND it has pockets! I was completely obsessed.
Ashley's ring was absolutely stunning. And check out that hammered rose gold accent band!
Note - we may or may not have been nerding out at Andru's awesome Zelda ring.
After we finished up with details, we went outside for the first look. Have I ever mentioned how much I love first looks?
Are they not the most beautiful couple?
Ashley & Andru's beautiful family. These girls were seriously too sweet and their blue and white striped dresses were adorable!
I loved how you could tell just how much each of these people meant to Ashley and Andru. They really helped make the day special AND they were awesome sports :)
These girls rocked the mismatched bridesmaids dresses and looked absolutely stunning! Believe it or not - one of these fabulous ladies gave birth less than 24 hours before this and still showed up to be there for Ashley. If that's not sisterly love, I don't know what is.
But let's not forget the handsome men and their dapper bowties. Also, can we take a minute to appreciate those mismatched socks? Too fun!
After the bridal party photos, I got to steal the bride and groom away for some couples portraits around downtown Ft. Wayne. These are some of my favorite images ever!
Ashley told me about this next location and it was absolutely PERFECT. Red brick, iron gates, ivy walls, great light, and a beautiful couple. Talk about photographer heaven. These two absolutely nailed it!
Next, we decided to drive over to the Historic Wells St. Bridge for a few photos. Originally Ashley had planned to have their ceremony on the bridge, but since it was under construction we were determined to incorporate it into their photos somehow. As fate would have it, we found a lovely shaded walkway that overlooked the historic trusses.
After we wrapped up portraits we headed back to the History Center, where Ashley and Andru would exchange vows and officially become husband and wife! Their ceremony was simple and genuine; a perfect reflection of this sweet couple.
